Remember nonstandard bikes when creating cycle lanes

Cycle lanes need to be wide enough for cargo bikes, bikes with trailers, and trikes/adapted bikes that people with disabilities use.

Why the contribution is important

Cycle lanes are often far too narrow and only barely suited to even standard bikes, so any bike other than that has no chance. People need to be able to get around with kids in trailers, tools or shopping in cargo bikes and people with different style of bikes to suit their needs have the right to safe travel also.

This is extremely important. Bikes come in all shapes and sizes as pointed out above. Consideration should also be given to wheelchair cyclists that use had bikes.

Forget it - allegedly bicycles are more space efficient than cars. If you double or treble the width of cycle lanes, then they will be the same width as powered vehicular lanes - if that's the case, then it's time to start paying .
