Road Safety

Back in school we did cycling profiency and I think it would be a great idea to bring it back. Not just for children but adults who are returning to cycling to give people the confidence to get out there and maybe learn things such as cycling on pavements isn't allowed in Edinburgh. I am a returning cyclist and are enjoying it but I want all to be safe.

Why the contribution is important

It encourages safety and confidence in the roads.

An excellent idea - nobody should be allowed to use any form of vehicle on the road, whether powered or not, unless they can demonstrate that they have attained an adequate level of skill and knowledge of road traffic law and also that they have proper insurance. This could be managed by a licence scheme featuring registration of all vehicles so that all maniacal red light hoppers can be fined.
